Frequently asked questions.
Do my clients need an account to review my work?
No. Send a private link and your clients can stream, leave timestamped notes on the waveform, and download right from the browser - no sign-up wall in front of the work. The one exception is payment: if you paywall delivery, clients create a free account when they pay, so the files they bought live in an account they own.
How do client payments work?
On the Engineer plan you connect a Stripe account, set a price on a share link, and downloads unlock when the client pays. Clients can stream and comment freely before paying. Arktide takes 0% of the payment - only standard Stripe processing fees apply - and payouts go directly to your Stripe account.
Can I join other teams on the free plan?
Yes. The free plan lets you join any number of workspaces other people are paying for, and gives you 1 GB of your own storage on top. You only need a paid plan if you want to run a workspace yourself.
What counts as a seat on Studio?
Seats are for your team - the people who work inside your workspace. Clients and guests never count: a label's whole roster can listen, comment, and approve without you buying a single extra seat.
Is there a free trial?
There's no time-limited trial. The free plan doesn't expire, so you can upload work, send links, and see how clients respond before paying for anything. Upgrade when you need the space or the client workflow features.
Do you train AI on my files or sell my data?
No. We don't train models on your audio, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for ads. Your work is yours. Files are encrypted at rest and in transit.
What happens to my files if I cancel?
Your files stay where they are and remain readable - you and your team can still stream and download. Uploads and edits pause until you reactivate. Nothing is deleted.
Do you compress or re-encode my audio?
No. Files are stored bit-for-bit. What you upload is exactly what plays back - full resolution, no transcoding.
How big can a single file be?
Large enough for full sessions and high-res masters. Uploads are resumable, so a dropped connection picks up where it left off rather than starting over.
